Introduction

Biocrafts are units used for combat and exploration in the Abyss. You can craft and evolve them in the Laboratory (LAB tab) and customize their mods in Biocraft Modification (MODS tab).

Crafting & Leveling

- Starter Biocrafts: Click "Craft Now" in the Laboratory to receive a starter set of 5 free Biocrafts.

- Crafting: Create additional units by combining specific Genes.

- Gaining XP: Biocrafts gain experience by clearing tiles in the Delve. Only units that are alive in your lineup at the end of a battle receive XP.

- Level Cap: Biocrafts gain levels through XP. Every 5 levels, units hit a cap and must be Evolved to continue leveling.

Evolution

Once a Biocraft reaches level 5, you can evolve it to the next rarity tier. Legendary is the highest rarity.

Evolving increases rarity, improve stats and unlocks a new mod slot. Evolution requires Energy and the same Genes used to craft the unit.

Note: Upon Evolution, the Biocraft moves to the next rarity and resets to Level 1 (e.g., Common Lv 5 → Rare Lv 1).

Rarity Change Evolution Cost (Per Gene Type + Energy) Total Mod Slots
Common → Rare 5 Genes (Each) + 20 Energy 2 Slots
Rare → Epic 20 Genes (Each) + 80 Energy 3 Slots
Epic → Legendary 50 Genes (Each) + 150 Energy 4 Slots

Modifications (Mods)

Every Biocraft starts with 1 mod slot. You can unlock up to 4 slots through Evolution.

- Rerolling: Use Genes and Artifacts to change a unit's mods. The required Gene type matches the Genes used to craft that unit.

- Cost: Reroll costs increase with the Biocraft’s rarity.

- Warning: Rerolling randomizes all slots at once. You cannot lock individual slots.

- Mod Rarity: Mods range from Worst and Bad to Legendary. Certain mods (Damage, Resistance, HP) have "Worst" and "Bad" tiers that provide negative stats.

Available Mod Types

Global (Team-wide): Increase Delve Reward, Increase Experience Gain.

Individual (Unit-specific): Damage, Speed, Range, Max HP, Self Heal per round, Healing Received, Chance to Evade, Cannot be Stunned, and Physical/Elemental/Dark Resistances.

Combat Reference

Combat in the Abyss is a strategic combination of stats, damage types, resistances, abilities and mods.

You can check each Biocraft’s stats, rarity, level, and details in Laboratory.

- Resistances: Combat involves balancing damage types against enemy resistances (Max 75%).

- Abilities: Each Biocraft has unique abilities (e.g., Burn, Thorn, or Explode). See the Pilot’s Handbook in the in-game Guide for full details.

- Lineup Manager: Accessible from the Abyss Home screen. Use this to arrange your 5-unit team on the grid and save presets for quick loading.

- Attack Patterns: The area of effect (AOE) for attacks is determined by the pattern.

  • Small Cross

  • Large Cross

Gene Acquisition

To craft and evolve Biocrafts, you must collect Genes. For a full list of sources, see the Pilot’s Handbook in the in-game Guide.

Other Ways to Get Genes

- Joe's Shop: Sells a Gene Bundle once per day.

- Mining Luck: Mining with Mining Assets or Radiobot-R on Planets has a small chance to find Genes. Higher Mining Luck increases the chance.

- Black Market: Purchase Genes using Credits.
