The Abyss is the primary staging ground for your Biocraft army. Here, you explore the infinite Delve for resources, compete against other Empires in the Arena PvP Battles, and challenge Dark Depths bosses for rewards.

The Delve is an infinite map where you clear tiles to gather resources and gain experience.

- Starting Zone: All players begin with the same initial layout, ensuring at least 5 Artifacts deposits are visible.

- Unique Maps: Beyond the starting zone, every player's Delve map is unique, including their Regional Empires.

- Movement: Click a tile to move.
*Uncleared Tiles: Entering these requires a battle and costs Robotic Access Keys and Artifacts.

*Cleared Tiles: Once cleared, you can move through them freely at no cost.

Overview
*Obstructions: Smash rocks using Energy. Unbreakable walls cannot be destroyed, you must move sideways to bypass them.
The Abyss is a challenging encounter mode where you craft + upgrade a menagerie of creatures (called Biocrafts) and use them to go hunting for resources + battling for prizes.

- Rewards: Tiles may drop Genes, A.R.C, Robot Part, Ship Components, Energy, and Artifacts.

- Events: The Echoes from Beneath event may trigger randomly while exploring.

- Use the Laboratory to create and upgrade your Biocraft army
Structures
Capturing specific tiles will automatically construct structures:

- Earn rewards by Hunting
- Void Hole: Builds a Reactor that powers nearby tiles in a Large Cross Area.

- Unlock more lucrative levels of hunting by Delving deeper
- Worker’s Hideouts: Built on powered tiles. Each hideout provides 1 Worker.

- Compete in the Arena
- Artifact Drillers: Built on Artifact Deposits. These require Workers to produce Artifacts.

Laboratory
- Teleporters: You can build up to 10 Teleporters for instant travel. These can be destroyed and relocated as needed.
Your first stop should be the Laboratory. This is where you will craft and upgrade your Biocrafts. The in-game "Lab Guide" will tell you how to find all the various Genes you will need as well as the special abilities of the Biocrafts.

Once you have the general idea, click the "Manage Biocrafts" button to start building your menagerie.
Workers & Efficiency
Workers are essential for operating Artifact Drillers. You can check your total workforce (excluding workers from Hideouts) in the Resource Stats.

Since you have just started the game, you do not have enough genes for the more powerful Biocrafts. Click the "Craft Now" button for the first three free Biocrafts.
- Base Workforce: You start with 5 free workers.

- Increasing Workforce: Build Worker's Hideouts, own specific Assets or join a Clan for bonuses.

You now have three Biocrafts! The important thing to note here is the "CR", or "Combat Rating". The higher this value, the better your Hunting will go. Upgrading your Biocrafts will give you a higher CR. Upgrading will cost you Artifacts. OK, next click the "View Detail" button.
- Assets Bonuses:
*Each Hoverbot= +1 worker.

*Each Burrowbyte= +5 workers.

Take your time and look over this screen closely. Some Biocrafts will have high health making them good at fighting in the front lines and tanking enemy damage. Some will be fragile but very powerful at range, or perhaps play a role in healing your army. Get to know the strengths and weaknesses well of your army so you can arrange and battle them appropriately.
- Driller Boosters: Assign these to a Driller for production bonuses.
*Burrowbyte: 2x Boost.

Delve
*Epic Scientist: 5x Boost (Requires +2 workers).

Once you have set up your Biocrafts in the Laboratory, click the "Delve" button to progress deeper into the Abyss. Each depth will have a new set of AI enemies to defeat. Study the enemies in the group and set your lineup so you can defeat them! The deeper you can go here, the better rewards you can get while Hunting. Let's try a battle:

*Legendary Scientist: 10x Boost (Requires +4 workers).
- Click the "Depth" button at the top of the screen

- All of your available Biocrafts will now be shown. Click a Biocraft, then click a blue square to deploy it there. Put your toughest minions on the front lines, closest to the purple area. Have them protect your damage and healer units behind them
*Limited Scientist: 20x Boost (Requires +6 workers).

- Repeat until you have all of your units deployed (max of 5)
Note: If you do not have enough workers, Driller efficiency will drop, reducing your yield.

- Click "Start Battle" to begin the fight!
Combat & Recovery
Combat
- Deployment: You must select a minimum of 5 Biocrafts to enter a battle.

- The battle will play out automatically. You can look at a log to see exactly what happened, replay it, or click close to immediately end the battle and show the results
- Persistence: Your Biocrafts' HP is saved after every battle. However, if you lose, the enemy’s HP resets to 100%.

- If you are successful you will unlock a new depth to try, as well as increase your Hunting depth
- Area Degen: Starting at Round 6, both you and the enemy take increasing Fixed Damage each round. Healers take 75% less damage from area degen.

- Experience (XP): Only surviving Biocrafts in your lineup gain XP from clearing tiles.

Click "Hunting" once you have defeated a few levels here.
- Dead Biocrafts must be removed, replaced or respawned.

Hunting
Healing & Respawn
- Passive Healing: Injured Biocrafts heal 3% of their Max HP every hour.

Now its time to find some loot! Sending your Biocrafts out on hunting missions can find you Artifacts, Reputation, Genes, Robot Parts, and Rock Fragments. You will need some Credits and Robotic Keys to hunt! Try sending some of your biocrafts on missions once you have enough resources gathered. You will need to delve past level 4 to unlock the medium and long missions.
- Medibot Healing: Each Medibot you own heals your Biocrafts by 1 HP every 5 seconds.

Short - Short missions are good for finding Artifacts and gaining some Reputation quickly. But, you will have to remember to send them out more often and they only have a tiny chance at the bigger rewards.
- Manual Healing: Spend Artifacts to heal a Biocraft instantly. The cost depends on the amount of missing HP.

Medium - Medium missions are balanced at finding decent artifacts/reputation and a decent chance at genes, parts and fragments.
- Respawn: Dead Biocrafts automatically respawn at 16:00 UTC with 1 HP.

Long - Long missions are great for when you have a sizable team and want to start focusing on Nature genes and fragments. They also have a nice long duration so you don't have to remember to click as often!
- Revival: Spend Nature Genes to revive units instantly. The cost increases with the Biocraft's rarity.

Arena
Note: Complete a Smuggling task for Necrotech will fully heal and revive all of your Biocrafts.

And finally... the Arena!
Arena PvP Battles
